Websites for trades · Lennox & Addington
Three serviced villages, one serviced town, and rural Lennox & Addington on wells and septic in between.
Amherstview, Bath and Odessa are on municipal water and sewer. Everything outside them isn’t. If you run one page for “Napanee and area” you are describing two different businesses at once and doing neither justice.

“Who does furnace installs in Odessa, and do they cover the new subdivisions?”
[your business] appears in nearby listings, but nothing on their site says whether they work in Odessa, what they charge, or how quickly they can schedule. Here are three I can answer for:

Serving
Greater Napanee · Amherstview · Bath · Odessa · Millhaven · Newburgh · Selby · Deseronto · Tamworth · Yarker01 — The situation in Napanee & Loyalist
A commuter corridor filling in between two cities.
Greater Napanee had 16,879 residents at the 2021 Census, up 6.2%, and is the seat of Lennox and Addington County. Its largest employer is the Goodyear tire plant. Loyalist Township next door had 17,943 residents, up 5.7%, with Amherstview around 6,500 and Bath at roughly 2,154. Bombardier’s plant at Millhaven employs about 250 people building light-rail components.
The servicing map here is more complicated than anywhere else on this list, and it matters. Amherstview, Bath and Odessa are on municipal water and sewer through Loyalist Township’s systems. Napanee’s urban core is serviced. Everything else — rural Loyalist outside those three villages and the Harewood and Brooklands subdivisions, and all of rural Lennox and Addington — is on private wells and septic.
Odessa is expected to roughly double in population during the 2020s. That is the kind of growth that produces a steady stream of new households who know nobody, have no contractor relationships, and will pick their trades entirely from what they can find online.
What makes this area different
This corridor sits between Kingston and Belleville and is quietly absorbing growth from both. New subdivisions mean new households with zero local network — the purest form of search-decided demand there is. And the servicing split means a single generic page genuinely cannot serve this market properly.
02 — Who this is for
Two markets, one county.
Serviced villages and unserviced countryside sitting side by side. The trades that do well here are the ones whose website makes clear which one they’re talking about.
One business per trade, per area. Two electricians wiring the same new subdivisions can’t both come first in the same search. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. When your trade in Napanee & Loyalist is taken, it’s taken — and I’ll tell you that rather than take the money.
03 — Why it matters now
New households have no idea who anyone is.
That is the whole thesis for this corridor. A subdivision filling in produces a cohort of people who have no contractor relationships, no neighbour to ask, and a list of things that need doing.
Every one of those decisions is made on a phone. And increasingly the phone doesn’t return a list — it returns a paragraph naming two or three businesses. Whether you are in that paragraph depends almost entirely on whether there is enough written about you to be confident about.
The good news is the bar is low. Roughly 35% of small businesses have a Google Business Profile at all. Two thirds of your competition has not shown up.
- —AI Overviews now appear on roughly 68% of local searches — so for most of the searches that matter to you, an assistant answers before anyone scrolls.
- —Ranking and being cited are different jobs. Ziptie’s analysis found 88% of Google AI Mode citations come from pages outside the organic top ten, and only 12% of AI-cited URLs also rank in Google’s top ten.
- —In a controlled test, AI assistants pulled facts from visible page text, not structured data — Claude extracted 0% from JSON-LD, Perplexity 12.5%, Google AI Mode 25%. If your price isn’t written on the page in words, it may as well not exist.
- —The peer-reviewed research (Aggarwal et al., ACM SIGKDD 2024) measured relative visibility gains of +40.9% for adding quotations, +30.6% for adding statistics and +27.5% for citing sources — a 30–40% band, in the paper’s own words. Keyword stuffing came in 8.3% below doing nothing at all.
- —About 45% of consumers now use an AI tool for local recommendations, and 82% read the AI-written review summary rather than the reviews.
04 — What you actually get
Built for how people in Napanee & Loyalist actually search.
Separate pages for the serviced villages and the rural townships, because they are separate markets with separate job lists and separate searches.
Explicit service-area language: which subdivisions, which villages, how far out you go. New residents ask “do you even come here” before they ask anything else.
And a Google Business Profile configured properly — primary category, secondary categories, and the services list, which is the one profile field with controlled testing showing ranking movement inside 24 to 72 hours.
- —Pages for Napanee, Amherstview, Bath, Odessa and the rural townships
- —Clear service-area language naming the subdivisions

- —Prices in writing

06 — Questions people actually ask
Napanee & Loyalist trades, answered plainly.
Which places here are on municipal water and sewer?+–
Amherstview, Bath and Odessa are, through Loyalist Township — Amherstview and Odessa on the Loyalist East system with water from the Fairfield plant, Bath on its own water treatment plant and sewer system. Napanee’s urban core is serviced.
Everything else — rural Loyalist outside those three villages and the Harewood and Brooklands subdivisions, and all of rural Lennox and Addington — is on private wells and private septic.
For a plumber that changes the job list. For a septic contractor or well driller it defines the entire market.
What actually moves the needle on Google Business Profile?+–
The evidence is uneven and worth separating out. Google itself says local results are based on relevance, distance and popularity, and publishes no weightings.
The strongest evidence is for the services list: controlled testing found adding predefined services produced ranking movement typically visible within 24 to 72 hours, and it is the biggest riser in the 2026 expert survey. Categories rank as the single highest-weighted factor. Reviews show a documented threshold effect at ten, and monthly velocity matters more than lifetime total.
What is not supported: posting frequency ranked 148th of 187 factors and failed a nine-week controlled test. Photo geotagging failed a 27-client controlled test — one of seven metrics improved and four of the remaining six got worse. Expanding your service-area polygon has no measured ranking effect at all.
How many reviews do I need?+–
Ten is the first real threshold — controlled testing found a small but noticeable increase crossing from nine to ten, with no equivalent bump from ten to eleven.
After that it becomes about rhythm rather than total. Analysis of over 8,000 businesses found monthly review volume mattered more than lifetime count, and one business’s rankings declined visibly after only 18 days without a new one. Consumer data backs it up: 74% weight reviews from the last three months.
Reviews with written text outperform star-only ratings. And since 17 April 2026, do not set staff review quotas or ask reviewers to name a staff member — both are now explicit policy violations.
What does it cost?+–
$79 a month with an $895 setup, $199 a month with setup waived on a term, or $349 a month. Buyout from $3,000, dropping $100 a month to a $500 floor. Live in 30 days or your first month is free.

Other areas I work in
Each of these has its own page, because the same trade is a different business in each of them. What sells a job in Napanee & Loyalist is not what sells one twenty minutes down the road, and a page that tries to cover both wins neither.
Next step
New subdivisions, new households, nobody they know.
This corridor is filling in from both ends. Tell me your trade and which villages you cover and I’ll tell you what I’d build.
